- This large-scale retrospective focuses on the wandering master painter Yamashita Kiyoshi (1922–1971), whose centenary was celebrated in 2022. Yamashita’s works, which depict simple and nostalgic Japanese landscapes, continue to capture viewers’ hearts even today. This exhibition, which includes some of the artist’s most notable hari-e collages such as "Fireworks, Nagaoka", assembles everything from his childhood pencil drawings to later oil paintings to pen drawings, ceramics, and personal effects. This retrospective of works by Yamashita Kiyoshi, loved by viewers of all generations, promises to be truly definitive.
